Spongioblastoma polare which originary described by penfield in 1927, is a uncommon brain tumor invol¡þving the optic nerve, tract, pons, or cerebellum, and rarely it is to be occured in the cerebral hemisphere. We have reported a case of spongioblastoma polare occured in the left fronto-temporal lobe of a 34 year¡þold man who was admitted to Woo Suk university hospital on Dec. 1969.
He had been complaining of left frontal headache, hearing disturbance, tinnitus, and blurred vision since 4 years prior to admission.
With the osteoplastic craiotomy in the left fronto-temporoparietal area, a large egg sized cystic mass was removed from the inferior frontal and temporal lobe.
Following the surgery subjective symptoms and nuerological findings were markedly improved except visual acuity.
